Beloved Friends, first, we have to been born again…
Jn 3:3-6,16 Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born? Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit. 16 For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
How were we born again? Or how can you be born again, in case you haven’t yet… We were born again because God in his great Mercy saved us. There is not one single thing you did to deserve his Love nor being saved by Him. I say this because there are quite a few preachers saying that we were the ones who first had to come to Jesus & that because of it, we decided to be born again, or that we gave permission to God to come into our lives. I will give a few Bible references to illustrate my point. If you have not been born again, even just the fact that you are reading these lines is because you hear God calling you to be born again.
Jn 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who has sent Me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
Those words of Jesus should be enough to prove my point, unless the Father brings you to Jesus, you can’t come to Him, period! In... Mat 11:27 All things are delivered to Me by My Father. And no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son will reveal Him. Then in... Jn 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me. That leaves out all other religions which claim to be a way to God, including Judaism, the only Jews coming to Heaven are those who get saved by the mercy of God by faith in Jesus, none others.
In the next passage we read the Gospel that the apostle Paul preached often...
Eph 2:1-10 And He has made you alive, who were once dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience; among whom we also had our way of life in times past, in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love with which He loved us (even when we were dead in sins) has made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are saved), and has raised us up together, and made us sit together in Heavenly Places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.
Can you see it? When we were dead in sins, and were counted with the children of wrath… Can a dead person do anything? No because he is dead, but God, who is rich in mercy, He made us alive, we are His workmanship, created in Christ to do God’s works.
Rom 8:28-39 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers. But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, those He also justified. And whom He justified, these He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Truly He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he condemning? It is Christ who has died, but rather also who is raised, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, "For Your sake we are killed all the day long. We are counted as sheep of slaughter." But in all these things we more than conquer through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Eph 1:3-6 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ; according as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, in which He has made us accepted in the One having been loved.
Some other passages where we can find the same true… 2 Thes 2:13-14, Tit 3:3-7, 2Tim 1:9-10, please read them too. Once God Himself calls us, & He called us because we were predestined to be part of His Family, then…
Rom 10:9-10 That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.
When we believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the death & confess Him as Lord of our lives, we are saved. Period
Now having become a Child of God, filled with the Spirit, God’s nature will be seen in our lives, because his nature in us will cause us to not only Love God, but to love not only our neighbors but even our enemies, & those that believe will be filled with God's Power as well. Love is the only Law in the New Pact…
1Jn 3:9-10 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
Jas 2:17-18 (CEV) Faith that doesn't lead us to do good deeds is all alone and dead! Suppose someone disagrees and says, "It is possible to have faith without doing kind deeds." I would answer, "Prove that you have faith without doing kind deeds, and I will prove that I have faith by doing them."
1Jn 2:19 These people came from our own group, yet they were not part of us. If they had been part of us, they would have stayed with us. But they left, which proves that they did not belong to our group.
Rom 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Once we are born again, it is then that we use the “free will” that God gives his Children to follow Jesus with all our hearts & forsake it all behind, some give all they've got, others not as much, some very little, that’s why some will receive greater rewards than others, every Child of God according to his works. 1Co 3:14-15
Mat 16:27 For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He shall reward each one according to his works.
Only abiding in Jesus & renewing your mind & heart by reading & meditating upon the Word daily, will allow you to put into practice the Love of God, who will work in your life to use you, so that you can bring forth much fruit into the Kingdom.
Jn 15:3-8 Now you are clean through the Word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered. And they gather and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you. In this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, so you shall be My disciples.
Bear in mind that the most satisfying thing in this whole world is becoming whom God made us to be.
Blessings… Alejandro
