Every new day comes with a new problem, battles & difficulties attached, & we need to look at them as obstacles that come our way to make us better, why else would they come? … Well, to help us to attain our goals to start with. Rom 8:17 And if we are children, then we are heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; so that if we suffer with Him, we may also be glorified together. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. And “if we are Children of God”, then… we are joint-heirs with Christ. God, is not just our God, He is our true Father, & He allows all the difficulties & the persecutions, that we have to endure, to strengthen us. Reading this passage in Daniel 11 helps us get a better idea.
Dan 11:35 And many of those who understand shall stumble, to refine and purge them, and to make them white, to the time of the end, because it is still for the appointed time.
So welcome all your trials & difficulties with joy, thanking the Lord with praises, knowing we have the power to win over them & overcome them all. Always bearing in mind that our victory has nothing to do with our own goodness, but that it is all about how good God is, & that Jesus already paid to cleanse us & made us fit to sit at the Father’s Table as His Sons & Daughters. Heb 10:14, Rom 8:1 So the victory is ours to embrace.
Mat 5:10 Blessed are they who have been persecuted for righteousness sake! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute you, and shall say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for your reward in Heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give to you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the authority of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you. Mar 9:23 Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. 2Pe 1:3 according as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue,
2Pe 1:4 through which He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 1Th 5:16-18 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
So, as I just said... welcome all your trials & difficulties with joy, knowing we have the power to win over them & overcome them all…
1Pe 4:12-13 Beloved, do not be astonished at the fiery trial which is to try you, as though a strange thing happened to you, but rejoice according as you are partakers of Christ's suffering, so that when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy.
When I review the Bible chapters I’ve memorized, I am reminded of how fast our memory forgets things that at the present we may know very well. So, one repeated strategy the enemy uses a lot when he attacks us, is to make us focus on the problem, the difficulties, the pain, the medical report, the size of the economic problem, etc., kind of like: look at the giants in the land & take your eyes away from Jesus.
This is the moment when we need to look back at the promises of God, quote them out loud to ourselves & to the enemy as well, get our eyes back on Jesus, & remind ourselves… greater is He that is in me… I have been healed by the stripes of Jesus… because I am an heir… I am partaker of God’s great riches… & God is my provider, & He gives me according to His riches, 1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Being surrounded with positive people full of faith who back us up throughout this times is an extra blessing.
One Bible affirmation very important & not emphasized enough is that of “knowing the will of God”, as when we do, we see that God is for us & not against us, having… “the knowledge of Him who has called us”
Col 1:9-14 For this cause we also, since the day we heard, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that you might walk worthy of the Lord to all pleasing, being fruitful in every work and increasing in the knowledge of God, being empowered with all power, according to the might of His glory, to all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness, giving thanks to the Father, who has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. For He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son; in whom we have redemption through His blood, the remission of sins; (also Ephesians 1:7-10)
There are more passages like the one above, the point is God wants us to know His will, it is very clear that, knowing his Will we become very productive & thus glorify Him.
Jn 15:16 You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you. Jn 15:8 In this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, so you shall be My disciples.
Let’s always remember that Jesus gave us his joy, so we should be joyous especially in times of trouble, that’s one of the reasons He gave us his joy for…
Jn 15:11 I have spoken these things to you so that My joy might remain in you and your joy might be full.
Php 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, Rejoice!
Rom 12:11-12 As to diligence, not slothful, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in affliction, steadfastly continuing in prayer. Rom 15:13 And may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Another thought may be: this is happening to me because of my sins & wrongdoings. Well, surely the devil will remind you of all your wrongdoings, accuse you of them & this way weaken your faith. But let’s always remember that when God looks at us He sees His own Righteousness upon us, & doesn’t remember our sins, 2Co 5:21 For He has made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities I will remember no more."
If we are walking with the Lord, obeying His voice within us, then we can dismiss the my wrongdoings accusation & know that a fact is: we have to face battles here in this fallen world, & our spiritual enemies fight us all the time, & we fight not against flesh & blood but against spiritual enemies, & as a matter of fact, we are called to fight the good Fight of Faith, & since the very Spirit of God is within us, then we have the power to command the enemy & he has to leave. Eph 6: 10-18, 1Tim 6:12, 1Cor 3:16
And just in case you have neglected your fellowship with the Lord for whatever reason… 1Jn 2:1 My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Repent, ask the Lord to forgive you, get up, clean up your act & look up.
Once we restore our fellowship with the Lord, we walk in prayer so that we can walk & run free from sins which try to bug us down.
Jn 8:36 Therefore if the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
Hallelujah, why shuffle around when we can run freely? Remember you become a slave of whomever you obey Rom 6:16.
The Victory is ours, but we have to embrace it!
Blessings… Alejandro
