Jesus promised He will return to establish God’s Kingdom on Earth

May, 2022

A few days ago I was talking to a young woman that told me she is catholic. As we talked, I mentioned that Jesus was coming back to this world, and she looked at me oddly and asked: And how do you know this? And I asked her: Do you read your Bible? And she said, no, but I listen to it every Sunday when the priest reads it in church. It was there when I noticed that if she has not heard that Jesus said many times in his Word that he would come back to rescue his Church from this world full of evil and establish the Kingdom of God here on earth, then it is possible that the majority of Catholics here in Europe, and maybe in the world, also do not know that Jesus promised his return with great power and glory to this world. So I told her: the most talked about topic in the whole Bible is the coming of God's Kingdom to this world. Don't let others be the ones reading the Bible to you. Take your Bible and let God speak directly to you.

So here I will share with you some of the New Testament passages where Jesus Himself speaks of His return to earth to conquer the world, and some others from the apostles, so that you can draw your own conclusions...

One important thing to note is that Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God was already in the world when He was here, of course, He is the King who will reign over His own Kingdom here on earth, and His Kingdom remained here in His disciples and in those who once saved, by God's grace and by their faith in Christ, became part of the Family of God, that is, part of His Church, the Kingdom.

Mat 12:28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.

Luk 17:20-21 And being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered and said, The kingdom of God does not come with observation. 21 Nor shall they say, Lo here! or, behold, there! For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.

In other words, the Kingdom is here. But as we can clearly see in the world, it is not Jesus who reigns now, He only reigns over those who are His, but as we will see in the following passages, He will reign over all this earth and...

Psalm 37:9-11 For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Yahweh shall inherit the land. 10 For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn’t there. 11 But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Explaining to his disciples a parable in Matthew 13, Jesus speaks clearly of his return and what He will then do upon his arrival...

Mat 13:37-43 He answered and said to them, He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man; 38 the field is the world; the good seed are the sons of the kingdom; but the darnel are the sons of the evil one. 39 The enemy who sowed them is the Devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore as the darnel are gathered and burned in the fire, so it shall be in the end of this world. 41 The Son of Man shall send out His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who do iniquity, 42 and shall cast them into a furnace of fire. There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous shall shine out like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

Mat 16:27 For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He shall reward each one according to his works.

The prophet Daniel is one of the prophets who received great revelations about the coming of the Kingdom of God to this world, I will just give a passage from him.

Daniel 7:13-14 I saw in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. 14 And dominion and glory was given Him, and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations and languages, should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which shall not pass away, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

When Caiaphas asked Jesus if he was the messiah; Jesus' answer could not have been more blunt, Caiaphas called him a blasphemer, since Jesus referred to that passage in Daniel, and it is obvious that Caiaphas being the high priest knew that passage well

Mat 26:62-65 And standing up, the high priest said to Him, Do you answer nothing? What is it that these witness against you? 63 But Jesus was silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus said to him, You said it. I tell you more. From this time you shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of the heavens. 65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.

Before that, just before his arrival in Jerusalem, some of his intrigued disciples asked him about his return?

Mat 24:3 And as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, I am Christ, and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all these things must occur; but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in different places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then they will deliver you up to be afflicted and will kill you. And you will be hated of all nations for My name's sake.

10 And then many will be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will rise and deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will become cold. 13 But he who endures to the end, the same shall be kept safe. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be proclaimed in all the world as a witness to all nations. And then the end shall come. 15 Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand). 16 Then let those in Judea flee into the mountains. 17 Let him on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house; 18 nor let him in the field turn back to take his clothes. 19 And woe to those who are with child, and to those who give suck in those days! 20 But pray that your flight is not in the winter, nor on the sabbath day; 21 for then shall be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world to this time; no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days should be shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect's sake, those days shall be shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ! Or, There! Do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders; so much so that, if it were possible, they would deceive even the elect. 25 Behold, I have told you beforehand. 26 Therefore if they shall say to you, Behold, He is in the desert! Do not go out. Behold, He is in the secret rooms! Do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even to the west, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered. 29 And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. 30 And then the sign of the Son of Man shall appear in the heavens. And then all the tribes of the earth shall mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of the heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. 32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree. When its branch is still tender and puts out leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you, likewise, when you see all these things, shall know that it is near, at the doors. 34 Truly I say to you, This generation shall not pass until all these things are fulfilled. 35 The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away.

As we read in this passage in Matthew... false christs and false prophets will arise and if it were possible, they would deceive even the very elect; So it is very important to be very careful & pay attention, not to be deceived. Only when He appears in heaven, the sign of the Son of Man, with power and great glory, only then it will be Jesus.

Now, when Jesus rose up to heaven, the disciples were watching and angels appeared to them and this is what they said...

Act 1:9-11 And saying these things, as they watched, He was taken up. And a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they were looking intently into the heaven, He having gone, even behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, 11 who also said, Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into the heaven? This same Jesus who is taken up from you into Heaven, will come in the way you have seen Him going into Heaven.

Well, that is absolutely clear. But to be brief, I will just give a few passages from the teachings found in the epistles of the Apostles.

2Th 1:6-10 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay tribulation to those who trouble you, 7 and to give rest with us to you who are troubled, at the revealing of the Lord Jesus from Heaven with the angels of His power, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, 9 who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He shall come to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all those who believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that Day.

1Co 15:20-25 For since death is through man, the resurrection of the dead also is through a Man.

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first-fruit, and afterward they who are Christ's at His coming; 24 then is the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God, even the Father; when He makes to cease all rule and all authority and power. 25 for it is right for Him to reign until He has put all the enemies under His feet.

1Th 4:15-17 For we say this to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not go before those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be with the Lord.

1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. But we know that when He shall be revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Finally, if you read the book of Revelation you will see that it is full of revelations about the End Time, Christ's return to Earth to establish the Kingdom of God, and the new beginning of a New Earth and New Heavens.

Rev 1:5-7 even from Jesus Christ the faithful Witness, the First-born from the dead and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and made us kings and priests to God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7 Behold, He comes with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, and those who pierced Him will see Him, and all the kindreds of the earth will wail because of Him. Even so, Amen.

Do you think it's possible to say that you believe the Bible, but that you don't believe the passages exposed here?
