Let it be the hidden Man of the Heart, in that which is not corruptible, the meek & quiet Spirit, which is of great price in the sight of God. 1Pe 3:4
We read in the Bible that there are, Spirit, Soul and Body.
1The 5:23 And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you, and may your whole spirit & soul & body be preserved blamelessly at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Heb 4:12 For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to dividing apart of soul & spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Our body is the physical part of our being that connect us to the physical world around us through its five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell, and palate. Our senses then communicate to the brain everything that they see, hear, touch, sniff or taste.
The description of the soul and spirit may be a little more difficult to define, since they have some similarities, but the Bible helps us to see the difference.
Our soul is what comprehends our intellect, feelings and will. Many times the Bible calls it our heart. It is obvious that … “Rom 10:9-10 If you confess the Lord Jesus, & believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, & with the mouth one confesses unto salvation”. He is not referring to the heart that makes the blood flow within us, but to the soul within us.
Now our spirit is renewed through faith in Christ, as it says in the previous passage of Rom 10:9-10. Now a natural man, who is not born again, remains blind to the spiritual world of God & cannot understand the Word of God.
In the words of Jesus. Jn 3:3 Jesus said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Once we receive salvation by the grace of God through faith in Christ, our spirit is born again receiving the very same nature of God within us and we then realize we are new creatures made in the same likeness of God.
1Pe 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and abiding forever.
Jas 1:18 Of His own will He brought us forth with the Word of truth, for us to be a certain first fruit of His creatures.
2Co 5:17 So that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Col 3:10 and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,
Being born again opens our spiritual eyes to the Kingdom of God while the men of the world remain blind to the things of God.
2Co 4:3-4 But also if our gospel is hidden, it is hidden to those being lost, in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving ones, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ (who is the image of God) should not dawn on them.
1Co 2:14-16 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.
As for the devil and the spiritual forces of evil that dominate the world today, we are now a real threat to them, since we have authority over them.
Col 1:11-13 Us, being empowered with all power, according to the might of His glory, to all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness, giving thanks to the Father, who has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. For He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son;
We are also free from sin...
Jn 8:34-36 Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever practices sin is the slave of sin. 35 And the slave does not abide in the house forever, but the Son abides forever. Therefore if the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under Law, but under grace.
Mat 28:18-20- Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority is given to Me in Heaven and in earth. Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.
Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Jesus is not only with us but within us, we now have his authority to represent Him and we are the Righteousness of God's Justice in Him.
2Co 5:18-21 And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; whereas God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and putting the word of reconciliation in us. Then we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as God exhorting through us, we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For He has made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Although our Spirit now has the same nature of God, our carnal mind must be renewed so that it can align with the Spirit of God in us. Rom 12:2 Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
So the only way to renew our mind is through meditation on the Word of God and living in love, obeying Jesus' command to love one another. Loving God with all that we are and our neighbor as ourselves, are commandments that can only be lived through Jesus who lives in us. Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Jn 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you.
Jn 15:12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
1Jn 3:18 My children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
