“Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Prostitutes and of the Abominations of the Earth” 5

March, 2021

Part 5

Hi Beloved & Friends…

I have been reading & studying Bible Prophecy for some 48 years now, at times dedicating more time to Bible prophecy than to other topics. I’ve read, studied & heard a good number of different interpretations on Bible prophecy from various Christian denominations & scholars. I know, & have read thoroughly the books of Daniel & Revelations many times. I have memorized several passages & even a full chapter from Revelations. The reason I am telling you this is not to make you think that my interpretation is better than others, but to help you not to feel bad if you think this is a bit difficult to understand, but with the hope of inspiring you to do your own research from the Bible which is the greatest well of Truth, Wisdom, & Knowledge there is, or ever will be in this world. This way you can have your own convictions, established on a solid knowledge of the Word of God, the guidance of the Holy Spirit & not on any man’s interpretation of It.

Please take notice that the letters I am writing on these Bible chapters, you should be read more than one time, if you want to get a better understanding of them, as with other lectures you value. As time goes by, we will receive greater understanding of these prophecies, so by no means think that "it is this way", but let's always be ready to receive more from the Lord.

Reading the Bible, the Word of God is paramount, because it is the very Spirit of God moving within & speaking & transforming those who partake of It.

Heb 4:12 For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Jn 6:63 It is the Spirit that gives life, the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and are life.

Rev 1:3  Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.

Now back to our study…

- Verse 5 Rev 17:4-5 And I heard another voice from Heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that you may not be partakers of her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached even up to Heaven, and God has remembered her unjust deeds.

I already talked about verse 4 in our last study, so I won’t go over it again, but since verse 5 is understood better in its context with verse 4, so I put them here together.

And I heard another voice: This seems to be either God the Father Himself, if not Jesus himself, as He is calling His people to come out & leave the city before judgment comes. We see, God always pulls His people out before judgment comes, for example Noah & his family before the Flood, Lot & his daughters before the destruction of Sodom, etc., & His Elect before the Wrath of God comes upon the wicked world.

1Th 1:10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.

Please take note that the Wrath of God comes after the Great Tribulation. If you want to see that explained with Scriptures read…

Then it says that the sins of Babylon have reached up to Heaven, then that gives an opening to the gates of the judgments of God upon her. If you are familiar with the Old Testament, you will see that it is one of the ways in which God operates; I will share a few examples for you to see what I mean…

Gen 6:5 Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was continually only evil. 6 Yahweh was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart. 7 Yahweh said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground—man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky—for I am sorry that I have made them.” .

We see the earth got to the point that it was filled with wickedness, so the Wrath of God fell in the Flood.

Gen 15:14-16 And also I will judge that nation whom they shall serve. And afterward they shall come out with great substance. 15 And you shall go to your fathers in peace. You shall be buried in a good old age. 16 But in the fourth generation they shall come here again, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.

Here we see Yahweh talking to Abraham explaining that only when the Amorites’ iniquity would be full, then He would deliver them into the hands of Abraham’s descendants.

Gen 18:20-21 And Jehovah said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous, 21 I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which has come to me. And if not, I will know.

Here we see that Sodom & Gomorrah’s sin became very grievous, & then judgment came.

Jon 1:1 Now Yahweh’s word came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach against it, for their wickedness has come up before me.”

Here we see Yahweh sending Jonah to tell Nineveh, capital of the ancient Assyrian Empire, that He was going to destroy it because her sins had come before Him. In the case of Nineveh, we see that their inhabitants repented, & begged for forgiveness & God did forgive them. The same pattern we see in verse 5, but no repentance; her sins have reached even up to Heaven, her unjust deeds, so judgment is on the way.

- Verse 6 – Rev 18:6 Reward her as she has rewarded you, and double to her double, according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix double to her.

I would say that now it seems that the Lord is addressing the angels who are in charge of executing judgment but also to His Saints, and He is telling them what His sentence is upon this city. As she has rewarded you: I wrote in part 2 of this study, point 6, how Jesus himself blames Jerusalem of shedding the Blood of all his martyrs, & also the great persecution of the Saints which will originate in the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem with the Abomination of Desolation, & where also the last two Great Witnesses of the end will be killed. Please go back to that section so that you can see all the Bible references in there. So the Lord says, give her double of what she has done to His Saints. Hallelujah! Rom 12:19 Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”

When going through the word “double” in my concordance, I noticed that the Laws of Moses sentenced thieves to repay double of all their stolen goods, but then I found some very interesting passages about double judgment on cities, but most of the times referring to Jerusalem…

Jer 16:18 First I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations.” This time around it will be the greatest abomination ever, the Abomination of Desolation sitting in Jerusalem’s Temple.

- Verse 7: Rev 18:7 As much as she has glorified herself and has lived in luxury, so much torment and sorrow give her. For she says in her heart, I sit as a queen, and I am not a widow; and I do not see mourning at all.

As she has glorified herself, as a city that will rule upon the nations, it is easy to understand, with all modern technology, the kind of propaganda that it will be transmitted through the media exalting her. Can you think of some of those commercials about great cities, such as London, Paris, New York, Moscow, Dubai, Tokyo, Singapore, Madrid, etc?

I found this website that claims Jerusalem will be capital of the world

Zec 12:2 “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of reeling to all the surrounding peoples, and it will also be on Judah in the siege against Jerusalem.

So shall she glorify herself & live in luxury. The fact that Jerusalem is considered the religious center of the world for the three main religions; Christianity, Islam, Judaism, it will be there where the one world religion will be established. I have heard that Pope Francis wants to meet with the religious leaders of the world and make Jerusalem the capital of the One World Religion, this being the case & all the commerce & business that it will generate, helps us seeing it easy for Jerusalem to increase in wealth quite easily, besides the fact that the Jewish bankers as their forefathers, are between the wealthiest people in the world.

Isn’t Israel the most powerful nation right now in all the Middle East, even in possession of nuclear weapons & the most powerful army in the region? It is a well known fact that the nation of Israel is the one that calls the shots in the political direction within the USA. Every president of the USA has to bow down to Israel, & you can find quite a good number of websites explaining this with different perspectives. The amount of money that the USA government gives away to Israel says a lot. According to the Washington Report on the Middle East…

Quote: Since 1949 the U.S. has given Israel a total of $83.205 billion. The interest costs borne by U.S. tax payers on behalf of Israel are $49.937 billion, thus making the total amount of aid given to Israel since 1949 $133.132 billion.

But they have similar control in Europe. Anyone criticizing the actions of the Israel government in the Middle East is immediately accused of “anti-semitic”, even questioning the veracity of the Jews’ version of the “holocaust” is good enough reason to ban those who dare to do so from all public platforms, & even more drastic measures in some cases. So the prophecy on Jerusalem, the capital of Israel becoming the leader nation in the world is around the corner.

Also Babylon brags of “I sit as a queen, and I am not a widow; and I do not see mourning at all”. She seems to be bragging about being the wife of the Antichrist, who will be the ruler of the world, & she is not a widow because her lover came back to life after being mortally wounded.

- Verse 8: Rev 18:8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day, death and mourning and famine. And she will be consumed with fire, for the Lord God who judges her is strong.

Wow, her plagues will come in one day, death, mourning, and famine. The times in the past when Jerusalem was totally destroyed, her destruction took several years to be carried out. First it was king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, who completely destroyed Jerusalem around the year 587 BC, some two years after he besiege the city. Then around 70 Anno Domini it took the Romans 4 years after they had besieged the city to finally destroyed it.

So now the city being destroyed in only one hour makes one think of a nuclear attack, which we know can blow up the city in one hour. She will be consumed with fire, only that here, even though we will read in the next verses that the plan of destroying her was carried by the 10 kings who work together with the Antichrist, their attack against the city is designed by God Himself in his sovereignty.

- Verse 9 & 10: Rev 18:9 And the kings of the earth who have committed fornication and lived in luxury with her will weep for her, and will wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning; 10 standing afar off for fear of her torment, saying, Woe! Woe to the great city, Babylon, that strong city! For in one hour your judgment came.

I tend to believe that the kings of the earth that this passage is referring now is talking about those kings of nations which lived in fornication with her, meaning involved in worshiping the Antichrist as God, & lived in luxury, means enjoying all the goodies that resulted of their interchanging goods, money & treasures for their religious activities going on during these times, & that these kings are not the members of the same 10 kings who work along with the Antichrist, otherwise they wouldn’t be lamenting over a destruction which they themselves carried out.

And they stand afar off for fear of her torment, as no one dares get near a city that is burning with an nuclear explosion. It’s okay to think that maybe is some kind of destruction caused by a different modern weapon & that it is not necessarily a nuclear bomb, nevertheless the end result looks as if it is a nuclear weapon.

It is interesting to quote here…

Rev 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air. And a great voice came out of the temple of Heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done! 18 And voices and thunders and lightnings occurred. And there was a great earthquake, such as has not been since men were on the earth, so mighty and so great an earthquake. 19 And the great city came to be into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the anger of His wrath.

In that passage we see that when the Seventh Vial of God’s Wrath is poured upon into the Earth such a great earthquake happens that Babylon is remembered & the city is divided into three parts, as part of the wine of God’s anger against it.

Well let’s pause here. Please share your reaction, comments & questions.
