The great importance of knowing your Bible, to not be deceived!

Dear Friends...

There are so many people speaking in the name of God, many of them using the Bible to misguide people, that unless you really know your Bible, you can also be misled. So many Christians are still living under the Old Covenant, so see what the Bible says in these passages and see for yourself.

1Ti 4:1-7 But the Spirit plainly says that in the latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, through the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared; forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from food which God has created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who believe and have known the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer. In pointing these things out to the brethren you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished with the words of the faith and of the good doctrine which you have followed. But have nothing to do with the profane fables of old women. Rather discipline yourself to godliness.

What does he mean by doctrines of demons? Well... 1Jn 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are of God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not of God; and this is the spirit of antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is now already in the world.

It is understood that the many false prophets who have gone out into the world preach what they hear from these evil spirits from whom they receive direction, spirits of evil.

2Pe 2:1 But false prophets have arisen among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will covertly introduce destructive heresies, denying even the Lord who bought them, bringing upon themselves sudden destruction.

2Co 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

That is why the Word of God commands us to...

2Tim 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. Avoid empty and profane babblings, for those given to them will lead more and more to ungodliness. As I begged you when you left for Macedonia to stay in Ephesus so that you might instruct some not to teach strange doctrines, nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to useless discussions instead of advancing the plan of God which is by faith, so I charge you now.

In other words: study and know your Bible well.

2 Tim 3:16  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

The only truth is the Word of God which is in the Bible.

Jn 17:17  Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.

And while it is true that false ministers use the Bible to deceive, they can only deceive those who do not know their Bibles well.

Eph 4:11-15  And He gave some to be apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ; till we all come to the unity of the faith, and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, to the state of a mature man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; That we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves, tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by the deceitful devices of error; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all aspects into him who is the head, even Christ.

So if your present "Christian" leaders are not helping you to mature, so that you will reach the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that you can no longer be manipulated with deceptive doctrines, since apparently they themselves are not following the example of Jesus and his preaching, as Jesus himself taught us: I am the way, the truth, and the life, listen no longer to them, but seek those who walk like Jesus... Jn 14:12 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go to the Father. For these leaders are not of God.

A leader of God...

2Ti 4:1 I charge you solemnly, in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, by his appearing and his kingdom: Preach the word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with much patience and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will accumulate for themselves teachers according to their own desires; and they will turn away their ears from the truth and turn to myths. But you, be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

1Ti 1:5 But the purpose of our instruction is love born of a pure heart, a good conscience and a sincere faith. For some, turning aside from these things, have turned aside to vain babbling, wanting to be teachers of the law, though they do not understand what they say or the things about which they make categorical statements.

2Ti 2:23 But reject foolish and ignorant reasonings, knowing that they produce quarrels.

1Ti 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to your trust, and avoid empty and profane babblings, and the objections of that which is falsely called science, which some professing it have erred from the faith. Grace be with you.

Tit 3:9 But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, contentions, and disputes about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.

There is a big difference between "Christian religion" and Christianity, the former is about reaching God through keeping commandments, the latter is about those whom God calls and put faith in His Word, who are empowered not only to keep the law, but to represent Christ here in the world. We love Him, because He first loved us.

Let us not forget the exhortation...

Gal 1:8-9  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that which ye have received, let him be accursed.

Gal 2:16  Knowing that a man is not justified by works of the law, but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of the law: for by works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

I hope that the passages of Scripture will inspire you to study the Word of God on a daily basis...
