Act 4:13 But seeing the boldness of Peter and John, and perceiving that they were unlearned and uneducated men, they marveled. And they recognized them, that they had been with Jesus.
Dear Friend, thanks for your comment. I don’t listen to a pastor, or a ministry of God’s work because of his denominational association. You, see, when a good fighter wants to become a world champion, usually he looks for the most renown martial arts maestro, & once he finds one, he learns under his guidance in order to learn the secrets that have made him the best, or one of the best, that way he can become among the best too. Once he realizes he’s learned all that the maestro knows, he goes on to put into practice what he´s learned.
We as Sons of God have already received the Holy Spirit, who as the Word says…
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which you received from Him (the Holy Spirit) abides in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as His anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true and no lie, and as He has taught you, abide in Him.
So we already have the greatest Helper with us, nevertheless, the Scripture also tells us…
Eph 4:11 And truly He gave some to be apostles, and some to be prophets, and some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. And this until we all come into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; so that we no longer may be infants, tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine, in the dishonesty of men, in cunning craftiness, to the wiles of deceit. But that you, speaking the truth in love, may in all things grow up to Him who is the Head, even Christ;
You see, the reason why God set the different offices: apostle, evangelist, pastor, teacher, is to help each member of the body of Christ to grow even as Christ, otherwise we will never be able to do what Jesus said those believing in Him will do… Jn 14:12 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes on Me, the works that I do he shall do also, and greater works than these he shall do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you may ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
So because we want to fellowship with the best in Christ, we need to look for those who look more like Jesus, the best masters.
I, after many years of following the Lord & preaching in various countries, I decided to go to a Seminary, to continue to grow in the knowledge of God, & thus become closer to Him. After one year, where I passed all the exams with good grades, I realized I was losing the faith I had for miracles before I went into the Seminar, so I quit. What good is it to know “Theology” & lose the Power God grants us to continue on with the ministry He passed down to us… Please understand that there may be very good Seminars.
2Co 5:17 So that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. And all things (the new ones) are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; whereas God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and putting the word of reconciliation in us. Then we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as God exhorting through us, we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For He has made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Jesus praying to the Father said… Jn 17:18 As You have sent Me into the world, even so I have sent them into the world.
How did Father God sent Jesus into the World? Act 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and He went about doing good, and healing all those who were oppressed by the Devil, for God was with Him.
See, pastors that do not have the manifestation of God’s Power in their ministry remind me of what the apostle Paul wrote 1Co 4:19-20 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills. And I will not know the speech of those who are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
This is what Paul wrote about his own preaching… 1Co 2:4-5 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
One very important point to bear in mind is that as the Scripture warns us, even false prophets can perform miracles, but Jesus taught us… Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruits, nor can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you shall know them.
What are the fruits of their personal life? That's where having a good knowledge of the Word, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit within us, helps us avoid deceiving doctrines, anything that contradicts the Bible is not of God, period. Sure, one can pull some Scriptures to create whatever doctrine he wants to preach, but if it doesn't jive with the overall context of the Bible, it is not of God, period. Preachers wanting to look as “the special ones”, making you become dependent on them instead of helping you realize you can be just as anointed as they are if you follow the Word of God, those are looking for their own glory, & not God's.
For example in the case of TL Osborn we see, he was born on a struggling small family potato farm in 1923, he got saved when he was 12, & he began witnessing in his home town in the USA when he was 15 years old. He went out on a life of ministry and missionary travel when he was still 18, including a trip to India when he was still only 21 & ended up establishing a worldwide ministry of seventy 70 churches throughout all the continents, with thousands of missionaries, winning millions of souls for the Kingdom & where all kinds of powerful miracles, such as tens of babies who were badly deformed at birth & others who contracted terrible diseases & they were all miraculously healed, with thousands of other healings of all kinds of incurable diseases. Was Osborn perfect? Of course not, but we can learn from the good things, as the Word teach us… 1Thes 5:19-23 Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophesying. Prove all things, hold fast to the good. Abstain from every appearance of evil. And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blamelessly at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Of course people in the media will never publish anything that could make people in the world believe in a God of miracles, they do publish all they can find about the pedophilia in the churches & some of the deeds of Pope Francis, and all other news, that make Christianity look and sound just like another religion in the bunch, but never real testimonies of true Sons of God who are just doing what Jesus himself said believers would do Mar 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
We also find passages such as… Heb 5:12-14 For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
See, there are those who will not grow in their walk with God, mainly for not exercising, not putting the Word into practice, therefore they remain spiritually immature, or as Paul calls them “babes”.
Now, would you like to be among these…
Rom 8:30-32 For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom He predestined He also called, and those whom He called He also justified, and those whom He justified He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will He not also with him graciously give us all things?
Many are called, but few are chosen, & I imagine the reason why is because few of the called ones accepted the conditions of the call, while “the many” didn’t realize what they were losing when they didn’t follow the call, therefore they despised it. On which of the groups you would say you are?
So, listen & follow the best Christians you can fin, those who are the closest to Jesus & remind you of Him.
Well, I pray these lines may be a blessing to you… Alejandro
