Dear Brethren & Friends
It is very important to look ahead in life & ponder… What is my goal in life? Where do I expect to be in xx years from now as a Christian, bearing in mind that we are living close to the days when we will see the raising up of the last men’s World Empire in which persecution against Christians will be the greatest in the world´s history ever? Rev 13:7
When we know & memorize Scriptures such as…
Jn 15:16 You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you.
Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.
1Co 3:9 For of God we are fellow-workers, a field of God, and you are a building of God.
There are more passages like those, but just those help us to realize that we have been made by God for extraordinary godly works with an outstanding calling, designed by God Himself.
Looking at one of Paul’s prayers…
Col 1:9-12 For this cause we also, since the day we heard, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that you might walk worthy of the Lord to all pleasing, being fruitful in every work and increasing in the knowledge of God, being empowered with all power, according to the might of His glory, to all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness, giving thanks to the Father, who has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.
In view of such great promises, we have no excuse to view our lives as ordinary lives, content with whatever life brings our way, when God already… 2Pe 1:3-4 according as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue, through which He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
If we don’t aim at anything, if we don’t set our goals, we’ll get nowhere, we’ll be like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.
And when we set our goals, if you aim for let’s say 70%, because that is all you want and would be satisfied with that much, you will probably reach 65%, now, if you aim at 100% & give it your all, putting all you’ve got to get there, there are chances you may reach above 95 if not up to 100%
Jesus put it this way… some people who receive his Word, which is Him, some…
Mat 13:23 But that sown on the good ground is this: he who hears the Word and understands; who also bears fruit and produces one truly a hundredfold; and one sixty; and one thirty.
My question is… How much fruit do we want to bear…?
Jn 15:7-8 If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you. In this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, so you shall be My disciples.
So there we go, Jesus stated in there that bearing much fruit glorifies the Father.
One of our daily prayers should be… Beloved Father, today, help me to bring forth much fruit in Jesus Name!!!
So in order to know for sure our prayers are answered, we need to follow… abide in Me, and My Words in you. To me that means, if I read, memorize & obey the Word, which I read every day, then my prayers are guaranteed by Jesus Himself.
Let’s see…
Jn 15:4-5 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
When we talk about our dreams in life, we are usually referring to the good & very best things we could possibly desire in life, right?
Wouldn’t you say that if when you meet the Lord there in Heaven, He says to you… Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord. Mat 25:21, aren’t those the greatest words any Child of God wants to hear when we get there?
Well, the time to prepare for that day when it comes is now, today, & every day of our lives while we are still here.
Some people kind of fear that God may ask them… Sell all that you have, give it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me. Luc 18:22 Now, if you think that what you have, no matter how rich you may think you are, and that what you have is more than what God will give you if you do forsake all that you do have, then your concept of God is pitiful. There are also people who, although they do not have much money, cling to their personal ways & desires, which they refuse to give up, so Luke 9:23 And He said to all, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
Mar 10:29-30 And Jesus answered and said, Truly I say to you, There is no man that has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands for my sake and the gospel's sake, but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands with persecutions, and in the world to come, eternal life.
So, let’s say that you do decide to give your all to God & let Him take over your life. If you so desire, you can consider yourself extremely blessed, & you can be sure you will be called crazy by those around you, & receive persecution as well.
What next?
Well I am going to tell you what I am doing to see God explode within me & take me where I would never be able to go on my own.
Only a few practical steps…
As I already stated. 1- Read, Memorize & Obey the Word. Here it is very important to realize that obeying the Word of God is impossible for us, but not for God, & He is & will continue to do His works within us, for Jesus is within us. We have to yield to Him.
Mat 28:20 b: behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the age.
Php 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Php 2:13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.
2Co 4:6 For it is God who said, "Out of darkness Light shall shine;" who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
So all the glory goes to God & belongs to Him.
2- Keep your eyes upon Jesus & His promises all the time.
Heb 12:1-2 Therefore let’s also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Psa 37:4-7 Delight yourself in Yahweh, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and He will do this: He will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun. Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him.
Mar 9:23 Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.
Luk 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Mat 19:26 But Jesus looked on them and said to them: with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
3- As much as possible, surround your-self with people of great faith, people who you admire for their great love & faith. Many of these people may not live near you, but look for them in the web, & listen to what they said, & all that agrees with the Bible, listen to it.
Just like in any team, whether it is in sports, business, etcetera, if the members of your team do not all aggressively want to do their best & be behind no one, then your team will not win. That is why so many churches today are such a poor example of what Christianity really is, that they have become a reproach to the cause of Christ. So we need to look for the best.
And don't spend time listening to the devil or paying attention to his lies, in other words, as much as possible, stay away from the media, as 95%, or more, of what the world says are lies, devilishly crafted to deceive and mislead. Also do your best to stay away from negative people, who are most of the time complaining about life, & try to bring you down to their level; don’t fellowship with them, this includes churches where the pastor is usually condemning his congregation for their shortcomings, instead of inspiring them to put their eyes in Jesus, know who they are in Christ, & in the work of God in their lives.
2Co 5:17-21 So that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; whereas God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and putting the word of reconciliation in us. Then we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as God exhorting through us, we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For He has made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
4- Remember that; growing in faith takes time, just like in anything else, a great musician, or athlete, has to start from the beginning, but those who are determined to excel will work harder than the rest.
1Co 9:24-27 Do you not know that those running in a race all run, but one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain. And everyone who strives for the mastery is temperate in all things. Then those truly that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible; so then I run, not as if I were uncertain; And so I fight, not as one who beats the air. But I buffet my body, and lead it captive, lest proclaiming to others I myself might be rejected.
When we don’t do what God asks us to do, we don’t grow.
Heb 5:12-14 For indeed because of the time, you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again what are the first principles of the oracles of God. And you have become in need of milk, and not of solid food. For everyone partaking of milk is unskillful in the Word of Righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, even those who because of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
5- Realize you can overcome sin… https://www.concerning-thekingdom.com/post/the-power-to-overcome-sin . Allowing ourselves small sins & weights which so easily entangles us only slows our reaching the goal. Walking in fellowship with the Lord will help us to walk in holiness.
6- Expect to see yourself among the best.
Dan 11:32-33 But the people who know their God will be strong and do exploits. And those who understand among the people shall teach many; yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by exile, and spoil, for days.
Dan 12:3 And those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the sky; and those who turn many to righteousness shall shine as the stars forever and ever.
Let’s see ourselves among those who will be strong, do exploits, teaching many, being persecuted, and turning many to righteousness.
7- Know & expect that our God will provide all we need now & forever.
Mat 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Col 3:23-24 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men; knowing that from the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ.
I pray these passages will inspire you to set your faith up high & give it your best for the Lord. Please let me know what you think.
Here I leave some other outstanding promises for you to ponder on…
2Ti 2:3-4 Therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one who wars tangles with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who chose him to be a soldier.
Psa 34:8-9 Oh taste and see that Yahweh is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Oh fear Yahweh, you his saints, for there is no lack with those who fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing.
Psa 37;23-25 A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand. I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.
Pro 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your steps
2Co 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.
Jn 14:12-14 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes on Me, the works that I do he shall do also, and greater works than these he shall do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you may ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Jn 17:20-23 And I do not pray for these alone, but for those also who shall believe on Me through their word, that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. And I have given them the glory which You have given Me, that they may be one, even as We are one, I in them, and You in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me.
Mat 17:19-20 Then the disciples came to Jesus apart, and said, Why could we not cast him out? And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Move from here to there. And it shall move. And nothing shall be impossible to you.
Mar 11:22-24 And answering Jesus said to them, Have faith of God. For truly I say to you that whoever shall say to this mountain, Be moved and be cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he said shall come to pass, he shall have whatever he said. Therefore I say to you, All things, whatever you ask, praying, believe that you shall receive them, and you will have them.
Love in Jesus… Alejandro
