Winning the Victory over Fear

Dear Friends…

The rulers of the world have always manipulated their peoples through fear. Moreover, today, through the media, nations are subjected to a propaganda campaign aimed at intimidating and frightening citizens by sowing fear of epidemics, plagues, climate change, famines, wars, etc. All problems created and fomented by the rulers themselves in order to impose measures that allow them to fully control all citizens. However, our Heavenly Father repeatedly asks us, the Children of God, in His Word, not to give room to fear, anxiety, doubts, and anguish. Already in the Old Covenant he told us… Isa 26:3-4 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You; because he trusts in You. Trust in Yahweh forever; for in Yah, Yahweh, is everlasting strength.

Jesus reassured us… Luk 12:32 Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

Jn 14:27  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

And in the face of the many difficulties and problems which we are facing in the world of today…

1Pe 4:12-13 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.

Jas 1:2-4 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

It is very important to take care of the thoughts we allow into our minds, because the way we think is what generates our good, or bad, attitudes in life.

For as he thinks within himself, so he is. Pro 23:7

Remember when we are God’s Children, then we are under constant attacks from the enemy, but it is good to learn God has given us power to overcome him every single time. Therefore if the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. Jn 8:36

Why does the Lord command us to keep our mind only on the good things?

Php 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Because that is the way to keep our eyes on Jesus, who is the Word, focusing in God’s Love; Right believing is the key that unlocks the treasures of God in your life, giving us access to the fullness of His love, grace, favor, blessings, and forgiveness. That is why it is vital to keep in mind, that Jesus already paid the price to cleanse us from all sins. Col 2:13-15 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses and sins, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

One of the weapons the devil uses most against Christians is to tell them that they are still sinners and that they may fall under the wrath of God; It is sad to see many "pastors" emphasizing people’s weaknesses and sins, making the congregation think that the way to overcome sin is through our personal efforts, which only helps the devil to fill the members of the congregation with thoughts of guilt, failure, and which can lead them to discouragement, and make them think that they will never be able to achieve a complete victory. This causes many of them to get physically sick, depressed and lose sight of all the power that God has given us through His Spirit so that we can live in victory and filled with the power of God's Spirit. Those of us who are Children of God hate sin, because we received God's nature within us when we were born again, and if our sinful nature causes us to fall sometimes, we simply ask for forgiveness from our Heavenly Father and we are strengthened to perfect ourselves more and more.

1Jn 2:1-5 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him.

So the main hindrance then between us and our victory is wrong beliefs. Understanding we are commanded to fight the good fight, we need to start disciplining our own mind, that’s why Paul admonished us to be transformed by the renewal of our minds, Rom 12:2 because that is where the battle starts, in our mind.

What we watch & pay attention to is key. So... turn the TV off & so all other devices programmed by the enemy to manipulate our minds with fear, anguish, doubts, anger, etc., also ignore those people around you that do their best to put you down. The devil wants to keep your thoughts on negative things so he can keep you defeated. He is a master tempting people, and he doesn’t play fair. His tactic with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden are the same he continues to use the most; he made them doubt God’s word by insinuating that God was deliberately withholding the best from them, because that’s the way God is, when God was in fact protecting them. The devil’s strategy hasn’t changed; he is still using fears, lies, accusations, guilt, and condemnation to ensnare believers today and to make them doubt God’s perfect paramount love, forgiveness, and super abounding grace.

So when we see someone with fear in his/her face, distressed, etc., we know that the person is not keeping his/her mind on God, otherwise Isa 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You; because he trusts in You. Our emotions are signs that indicate to us what kind of thoughts are we entertaining. If we find ourselves starting to slide down the slippery slope to fear, worry, doubt, pessimism, guilt, anxiety, and anger, etc., it’s time to tell ourselves STOP!!! Kick those negative thoughts out of our mind & start quoting the Word that we know, if we keep our mind in Christ & his promises, they will produce faith that makes us victorious and full of positive emotions. Remember, Jesus promised us his Joy if when we are filled with his Word… Jn 15:11 I have spoken these things to you so that My joy might remain in you and your joy might be full.

Fears and anxieties should help us see the presence of wrong beliefs in our lives, whereas believing in God’s promises makes all the difference in the world: Rom 8:31 If God is for us, who can be against us? 2Pe 1:3-4 according as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue, through which He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Complete victory is ours when we abandon ourselves in the hands of God. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me, Phil 4:13!!!

1Jn 4:16-18 And we have known and believed the love that God has in us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. In this is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, that as He is, so also we are in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment. He who fears has not been perfected in love.

Meditate daily on God's promises, better yet, memorize them and you will realize what a great positive difference they make in your life.
